How to play reversi
Reversi is played on an 8×8 board. It starts with two discs of each colour in the middle. Black moves first.
Rules
- Place a disc so that a line of your opponent's discs sits between it and another one of yours, across, down or diagonally.
- Every disc you trap flips to your colour. A move has to flip at least one.
- If you have no move, you miss your turn. The game ends when nobody can move.
- Whoever has more discs on the board wins. The dots show where you can play.
Tips to win
- Corners are the best squares, because a disc in a corner can never be flipped.
- Stay off the squares next to an empty corner. They hand the corner to your opponent.
- Early on, don't grab too many discs. Leaving your opponent few moves matters more.
